Like you, I understand how it feels to be fatigued, stressed, and overwhelmed!
I had a perfect storm of gut infections: small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), candida yeast, and mold. I was plagued by chemical sensitivities that made me ill at work. At home, my hormonal imbalances had me fighting with my husband.
I knew this stressed-out, reactive person wasn’t me and I didn’t want to accept that fatigue and brain fog were my new norm. I needed to continue living an active, happy life and was unwilling to accept poor health or emotional instability as my diagnoses.
The surprising answer to my health issues.
With a background as a scientist, I used my analytical and research skills to find answers and experiment. I found my health improved by living according to human biology with a lifestyle similar to our hunter and gather ancestors.
I got rid of empty food and ate a micronutrient dense, anti-inflammatory diet. I prioritized connecting with my tribe and the outdoors —I got off my computer and into nature (no matter how poorly I felt), hung out with friends, and adopted a dog.
How I stopped stress— the massive roadblock to my health.
Still I had to take a hard look at stress and all potential stressors, including physical, chemical, and emotional sources. I worked to improve my digestion through mindful eating and good gut health, to detoxify to correct hormonal imbalances, and to balance my blood sugar with the right balance of macronutrients for my body (learn more with my e-book). I also learned to reframe emotional triggers and let go of what I couldn’t control.
I am back to my active lifestyle—with my pooch in tow—hiking, biking, and surfing. But now, I have the wisdom to mindfully listen to my body and manage my physical and emotional health.
My goal is to empower you to find answers and to listen to your inner wisdom.
